Unfortunately I have bad news to share. My wife was in a car accident today. She is in the hospital under observation. They haven't found anything seriously wrong and she should be home in a few days. Our son was in the car also but not hurt. I will have to postpone writing for now.

Indie,
So sorry to hear about the accident. I amm sure things will turn out fine. I am sure you will have lots of stories to write about incompetant doctors/nurses (because it's the hardest thing to have a loved one in the hospital where taking care of him/her is taken out of your hands) and about your reflection on why this happened and what you have learned from it. To me, an accident is always happening to tell you someting. To slow down, to meet certain people or get a certain knowledge about something.
So, take good care of your loved ones and come back soon with your stories.

Thank you everyone for the words of comfort. Truth is, these last days have been horrible, but now things are starting to look positive again. My wife had a concussion, and though the scans show no damage, coming out of it has been slower than they'd expected. Today though she was more awake than ever and we could talk with more continuity as well as remember more and more of the days before the accident. I'll start blogging again as soon as I'm mentally able.

I am so sorry but I am also glad things are okay and getting better now. I am sorry for not checking in here for a few days. Its all too easy to get caught up with work and other bothersome things that when I read this I realize how stupid those things are. I am so glad your family is safe now, I feel sick I didn't see this before. I get so caught up in other stuff and feel like its all so overwhelming when compared to this is nothing at all. I send my love to your family and to you in this hard time.

Hello fella,

I hope your wife is recovering well and, when you're ready, you can channel the emotions into some electric tales.

I've just been having a nose around your blog. Congratulations; it's a lovely one, a crisp and lively set you should be proud of. I'll surely be back to read your work.

So sorry for this news; I'm hoping by now she is much improved and your mind is at ease, thinking only of your good fortune that things were not more serious.

Thank you everyone for all the comforting words - it does mean much to me to have so much support. I am sorry that I don't have the energy to answer each message individually.

My muse is making small but sure steps to recovery - it's typical after a shock like she had to remember what's going on around her and the days before the incident. I know all this from my textbook for physiological psychology, which I did an exam in. Yesterday she remembered some of the things we talked about, and had dim recollections of what happened during the day. All positive signs.

Our son, who was in the car too, was completely uninjured and has been very resilient in the face of what must have been a terrible experience. He is handling it better than I am.

I'm really sorry to hear of all this, Indie. I've been out of town all week and didn't read this until just now, such sad, sad news, but if nothing else, at least she's improving.

Stay Strong.
