Breakfast Time!

The Belle of the Brawl, Sar, had me over for breakfast at her place, and said I could bring a few friends, so drop what you're eating and stop by! P.S. I intend to post the next story by Saturday - even though it hasn't been written yet.

Oh boy !! That sets me back 12 years ago, I went to see my dad in New Orleans and I staid there 2 months and every morning I rushed to this coffee house on Bourbon St. to get my belly full of pancakes and Aunt Jemima's syrup.
Saliva's surging in my mouth just to think about it.I'll try your recipe(I like crepes suzettes too)

I always did the same before I had the recipe. Everytime back home I had breakfast at the breakfast restaurants. Hope you enjoy the pancakes!

Indie, I loved that post at Sar's. And a recipe too. You're a man of many gifts.

Tick tock tick tock

Doug: Glad you liked that. I thought of several different posts I copuld write, but liked this idea best.

But stop the ticking. Alice said not to do that!

Hey! Arent pancakes crepes?

I absolutely LOVE crepes!

I tried to bake them several times but its a waste of time without a non-sticking pan. :(

I think the French would kill you if they heard you call their crepes pancakes. Contrary to popular belief, the French are anything but pacifists. ;-)

I think the difference is that they're thinner. The American pancakes can get quite thick/puffy. The Netherlands have quite a few Pannekoeken restaurants, with similar thin pancakes but prepared in a variety of ways. Those were always delicious.

No IHOP in Europe? We need to convert these people. Maybe Ahmish missionaries?

Progress is slow, Doug. But they have McDonalds, Burger King, Starbucks and Wal-Mart. I'd trade McDonalds and Wal-Mart for an Ihop.

Not much Puerto Rican food in Germany. A few Spanish restaurants and maybe Mexican or Argentinian, but that's it.

I'd like to try your cooking once. A plate of pancakes for one of your dishes?

Hi Indie-I enjoyed your day in the spotlight over at Sar's. It is always fun to learn more about fellow blogger.

I'm going to try your recipe this weekend, see how it compares to the my favorite one from the farm ladies in Saskathewan!

Can't wait for the story - I don't do panckaes. ;0

Kyahgirl: I'm happy you had fun with the post. Here I've almost never posted anything autobiographical - just never wanted to have an online journal in the traditional sense. Let me know how the recipe worked out!

Ann Alsex: They are. We just now had our Saturday batch of pancakes and now we have to go to the little league game.

Cooper: I can't wait for the story either. Where is it!?!? Seriously, if I don't post one tonight, it'll be tomorrow. Or I'll give up completely. Whichever comes first.

I'm not saying anything.

I didn't hear that, Doug.
