Contrary to popular belief, the French are anything but pacifists. ;-)<BR/><BR/>I think the difference is that they're thinner. The American pancakes can get quite thick/puffy. The Netherlands have quite a few Pannekoeken restaurants, with similar thin pancakes but prepared in a variety of ways.
